The following welfare activities were organized by NCRB till June, 2010. The activities were organized under the guidance of Shri. Rajiv Mathur, Director General, NCRB:
1. Eye-Check up camp:
NCRB had organised an Eye-Check up camp on 22nd September 2008 at NCRB in association with 'Venu Eye Institute and Research Centre'. The general check up broadly included the following examinations pertaining to eyes:
1. Checking of Vision. 2. Orthoptic Examination. 3 Check of Ocular tension. 4. Bio-microscopy. 5. Detailed Fundus Examination.
The response from the employees of the Bureau was phenomenal. A total of 227 personnel availed of the opportunity.
2. Heart-Check up camp:
NCRB had organised a Heart-Check up camp on 3rd November 2008 at NCRB in association with 'Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre', New Delhi. The check-up included the following examinations:
1. Physical Examination 2. Blood Pressure check 3. ECG Recording 4. Neuro Magnetic Check up/Blood Sugar 5. Echo Cardiograph 6. Consultation with senior Doctors
3. 'Art of Living'
training camp :
A work shop on 'Art of Living' was organised for the staff of NCRB from 23rd March to 28th March 2009 under the guidance of the 'Art of Living Foundation'.
34 members of the staff had participated in this program. The week long course was highly appreciated by all the participants.
4. Health Check-up:
A comprehensive health diagnostic test was conducted for the staff from 16th March to 25th March 2009 by 'JDAR Pathology Laboratory'. The tests included the following examinations: 1. Blood Sugar (Fasting) 2. Liver Function Test (including SGOT, SGPT and Alkaline Phosphate) 3 Lipid Profile Complete 4. Kidney Function Test (Including Urea and Creatinine).
5. Loans to
members of NCRB Welfare Fund :
Loans were disbursed
amongst 54 members of the staff at the rate of Rs.15,000/- each (at 7% interest
). Previously the rate of interest was 9% but the Director
General was considerate enough to reduce the rate to 7% per annum. The Director
General’s initiative has also brought down the long waiting list of loan
applicants.
6. Funeral Grant on demise of any family member of WF's member:
Funeral Grant of Rs.2, 000/- each were granted to 6 members of the staff on demise of their family members. The Director General enhanced the Funeral Grant from Rs.2, 000/- to Rs.3,000/- and seven members have got enhanced funeral grant.
7. Purchasing of some useful items from Grant-in-aid:
NCRB purchased Air Conditioner for Gymnasium, Water dispensers (6 in Nos.), Room Cooler and exhaust fan for Driver's Room, Hot Cases (5 in Nos.), Tea Vending Machine and Micro wave oven etc. for the welfare of NCRB staff.
8. Reward to the children of WF members for outstanding performance
in education: The Director General enhanced the awards given to the meritorious wards of the staff and in the process has given cash awards of Rs. 1100/- each to the outstanding achievers.
9. Different Sports activities : Various Sports activities were organised under the aegis of NCRB WF in which the office team performed creditably in various inter-ministerial events.
10. Farewell parties to the retiring officers: NCRB has been organizing Farewell parties in the honour of the retiring officers felicitating them with token Gifts.
11. Dental-Check up camp: NCRB had organised a Dental-Check up camp on 15th June, 2009 in association with “Green Park Dental Research Institute”, New Delhi.
A
total of 160 personnel availed of the services. 12. Hindi Prasashnik Shabdavali Pratiyogita: For the first time, NCRB has organized Hindi Prasashnik Shabdavali Pratiyogita on 17th June, 2009 to promote knowledge of Hindi. Total 13 members participated in this activity.
13. Cancer Detection Test - The NCRB organised a Cancer Detection Camp in October 2009 in association with 'JDAR Pathological Laboratory', Shanti Niketan, New Delhi. The check-up included the following examinations:
1. Breast Cancer Detection Test 2. Cervical Cancer Detection Test 3. Prostate Gland Cancer Detection Test 14. Sudoku and Crossword Competition- For the first time, the NCRB had also organized Sudoku & Crossword Competition for the officers and staff of NCRB to exercise the the brains of I.T. community and given away cash prizes to the winners.
15. Painting Competition - The NCRB Organized a ‘Painting Competition’ for the children of the staff of NCRB. The theme for the event was ‘Communal Harmony’. Mrs. Rekha Mathur was the Honourable Chief Guest for the occasion.
17. Health Check-up of Staff: A comprehensive health diagnostic test was conducted for 230 members of staff in the month of June, 2010. The test included the following Examinations:
Hepatitis-B vaccination camp for the wellness of NCRB staff is on the cards, modalities are being decided for organizing camp.
